Capturing images of great places and amazing people

Royal Oak, Michigan - Two Books

e are pleased to announce two books featuring the City of Royal Oak.  These books include photographs of this active, walkable community with a rich history, vibrant nightlife, and eclectic architecture.   Many downtown buildings, street scenes, signs, and other built and natural elements are featured.

Charles Landry, author of The Art of City Making, notes that " The city is an assault on the senses.  It is a lived experience.   We feel the city.  It engenders emotions.  It affects our psychology.  Emotions drive our life, shape our possibilities, determine our reactions and our outlook on the future."  The City of Royal Oak certainly lives up to that general observation.  It is a place of conviviality and energy, and it has some excellent examples of urban form.   These features - and the people who live, play, and work in the City - inspired the images in the Royal Oak books.
